I used to sew right over pins — until I got a new machine that didn’t appreciate that habit. Now reformed, I remove them as I go… but I was always dealing with a mess of pins sliding off the table, landing in my lap or on the floor.

So, I designed a ceramic pin tray that sits flush against my machine — narrow enough to stay out of the way, but wide enough to catch pins as I pull them out. As a little bonus, I made it magnetic, so it grabs any stray pins before they disappear.
